Student of the Week: Bob Shaw

July 17, 2009 · 11 comments

Meet Coach Bob Shaw. Bob joined our ranks back in January when his wife surprised him with an Unlimited month-long CrossFit membership for Christmas. What an awesome present to give someone you love – the gift of health – the gift of elite fitness.

Immediately Bob was hooked…and determined to make the most out of his CrossFit training. At the end of his month, he signed up as an unlimited member and has been kicking ass ever since. He has lost over 30 lbs of fat, has drastically improved his endurance, and is halfway to an unassited pullup.

Aside from the amazing progress he has made in the past 6 months, anyone whose ever worked out or met Bob knows he is the nicest and most encouraging teammate ever. You can’t help but pour your heart out into your workouts when working out alongside this guy. Here’s to a well deserved Student of the Week to Mr. Bob Shaw!

Bob, Great Job. I was reading the first article that Zeke Linked (what we look for in a crossfitter) to and you are all of these things(coachable, accountable and there for the community). That and the drive you put into every day are the reasons for your sucess. I enjoy coaching Bob because no matter how long he has been doing something he is always willing to attempt to change the way his body moves to be able to perform movements differently and more efficiently.
See you all tonight!

Bob, good work, you are doing a great job. The foundation of any endeavor we undertake in life is knowing what the cost is. Then we must determine if the cost or sacrifice is worth the outcome. By your work ethic at Crossfit Coastal, we all know that you decided the outcome was worthy of the cost.
